COLOUR STUDY

Colour is the visual perceptual property corresponding in humans to the categories called red, blue, yellow, and others. 

Week 1>Does Color Matter?

•Color make world becomes beautiful, bright, and colorful.

•Colors give people convenient, wealth, and law.

Convenient – color make people easier to observe and distinguish the different of a thing

Wealth – there have many career need color to do, etc artist, interior designer and firm director to make their works more wonderful

Law – the color of traffic light give instruction for the car, to avoid accident

•Also enriched the human heart, no longer boring.

Week 2>Color Wheel

A color wheel or color circle is an abstract illustrative organization of colour hues around a circle that shows relationships between primary colours, secondary colours, tertiary colours.

PRIMARY COLOURS

primary colours are colours that cannot be created through the mixing of other colours: yellow, red, blue

SECONDARY COLOURS

primary colours can be mixed together to produce secondary colours: orange, green, violet (purple)

TERTIARY COLOURS

tertiary colours are the combination of primary and secondary colours: yellow green, yellow orange, red orange, red violet, blue violet, blue green

Week 3>Color Temperature
Color temperature is a characteristic of visible light. The color temperature of a light source is the temperature of an ideal black-body radiator that radiates light of comparable hue to that light source. Understanding the color of light, can make it easier for you to choose lighting that will give you the effect you want.

WARM COLOUR
warm colour are made with orange, red, yellow and combinations of them all. As the name indicates, they tend to make you think of sunlight and heat. 

COOL COLOUR
cool colour such as blue, green and light purple have the ability to calm and soothe. Where warm colors remind us of heat and sunshine, cool colors remind us of water and sky.

Week 4>Color Value
colour value can be defined as the relative lightness or darkness of a colour. The brighter a colour is, the higher is its value and the more light it emits. Colour can be change the value by apply white colour to become brighter. As the same way, can apply black colour to change the colour become darkness.  

week 5>COLOUR HARMONY

harmony is nature's way of saying that two or more things together make sence. Colour harmony represents a satisfying balance or unity of colors. Colour harmony can be categories as three basic techniques:

Analogous Analogous color schemes use colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. They usually match well and create serene and comfortable designs. Analogous color schemes are often found in nature and are harmonious and pleasing to the eye. Make sure you have enough contrast when choosing an analogous color scheme. Choose one color to dominate, a second to support. The third color is used (along with black, white or gray) as an accent. Triad A triadic color scheme uses colors that are evenly spaced around the color wheel. Triadic color harmonies tend to be quite vibrant, even if you use pale or unsaturated versions of your hues. To use a triadic harmony successfully, the colors should be carefully balanced - let one color dominate and use the two others for accent. Split-Complementary The split-complementary color scheme is a variation of the complementary color scheme. In addition to the base color, it uses the two colors adjacent to its complement. This color scheme has the same strong visual contrast as the complementary color scheme, but has less tension. The split-complimentary color scheme is often a good choice for beginners, because it is difficult to mess up.

Final Assignment >Fashion Design

The design of my shirt is the concept of sporty fashion, i choose soft cloth for my fashion because it's absorb sweat, suitable for sport person to wear. Before i design the clothes, i try to get some information from the internet about sporty style. I realize that sporty fashion not only just wear for sport, it also can be a public clothes. The characteristic of sport fashion is simple, comfort, and beauty. But, mostly of the fashion are in warm colour. So, I try to challenge myself to choose black and white colour (the colour that out of colour wheel) in my fashion design. i apply black colour on the coat and use grey colour ribbon to decorate the outside of pocket. T-shirt is in white colour with adidas logo (black and grey colour) on the middle of the T-shirt. My fashion concept also have using colour value, grey and white colour are come from the difference value and brightness of black colour.
